Three people were killed and two others were wounded following landmine blast near Dhobley along Somali Kenyan border.
The blast ripped through the vehicle they were traveling in.
Nur Bihi, Health coordinator of Dobley district confirmed the fatalities saying the injured are nursing their wounds at the local hospital.
But witnesses said there might be more casualties.
It is not immediately clear the main motive behind the attack but pockets from armed group al-Shabaab are active in the area carrying out hit and run attacks against African Union troops from Kenya Defense Forces.
Jubbaland leader, Ahmed Mohamed Islam recently announced security operation to retake remaining towns under al-Shabaab control.
