Incumbent Jubbaland state President, Ahmed Mohamed Islam has been re-elected on Thursday.
The state leader defeated two other candidates namely, Anab Mohamed Dahir and Mohamud Mohamed in the election decided by 74 members of the regional assembly.
President Madobe garnered 56 votes while his close contender, Anab Mohamed Dahir received 17 while the third candidate, Mohamud Mohamed managing only one vote.
The regional leader was immediately sworn in to serve another four years.
Meanwhile, members of the opposition candidates who selected parallel candidates weeks ago also conducted elections and elected Abdirashid Mohamed Hidig as their reional leader for the next four years. Hidig got 59 votes .
The corresponding election results follows intense political week amid calls by the international community for transparent polls in the state.
The Federal government of Somalia has earlier warned to shun the results if the process is not in line with the Ministry of Interior and Federal affairs.
