President Trump receives credentials from Somali ambassador

US President, Donald Trump has received diplomatic credentials from new Somali ambassador to his country on Tuesday.

Ambassador, Ali Sharif Ahmed presented his credentials at Oval office in the white house officially assuming duty as the horn of the African nation envoy to most powerful state in the world.

He conveyed a message from the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo to his US counterpart, Donald Trump on Mogadishu’s continued commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

The new ambassador also briefed President Trump on recent security and political progress made in the country.

The experienced diplomat who served previously in Addis Ababa, Paris and African Union will represent Mogadishu’s new strategic and diplomatic alliance with Washington DC.

The University of Sussex and London Metropolitan University alumni was appointed by President Farmajo on May before approval by the cabinet on new move to reshape the horn of Africa foreign policy.
