Somali military killed about thirty al-Shabaab fighters following a well-coordinated attack on an al-Shabaab base in Lower Shabelle region.
In a statement, Somali National Army said its forces raided al-Shabaab training camp in Gendershe vicinity.
According to the statement, the forces were hunting down the fighters who attack El-Salini village last week.
During the operation, the military destroyed several vehicles including Some the group had taken from El-Salini military base.
SNA officials who spoke to military-owned radio vowed to continue the operations against al-Shabaab fighters.
The raid came barely four days after al-Shabaab fighters attack base manned by SNA.
The group attacked the base with a car packed with explosives.
Somali forces reportedly fought back and maintained the control of the base.
