Somali foreign minister Ahmed Issa Awad has today held meeting with the country representative of World Health Organization (WHO).
The minister received Dr Mamunur Rahman Malik who was appointed to lead WHO mission in Somalia.
In a Twitter post, the minister said the WHO representative has extended his credentials to the ministry.
“I received credentials from the WHO Country Representative and Head of Mission, Dr Mamunur Rahman Malik,” said Minister Awad.
The minister expressed his Government’s commitment to work with the organization in promoting the country’s health sector.
“We acknowledge @WHO’s role in supporting health services in #Somalia and in leading partners in effective health responses. We are committed to cooperating with WHO,” the Twitter post reads in part.
On his part, Malik pledged that he will work on the helping people and helping the country in getting quality health care.
