Judge killed in rare IED attack in Las-Anod, Sool region

A judge in Las-Anod was killed Monday in a rare bomb attack in the northern Somalia region.

Sources at the town told Halqaran.com the Sool regional court judge identified as Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Omar was killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) suspected to have been planted on his car exploded.

The judge was driving alone at the time of the incident which happened at around 5.35 pm local time near Hamdi hotel.

Such attacks have not been witnessed in Sool region in recent years.
