Somali security agencies in the agricultural city of Beledweyn have on Sunday foiled a roadside bomb.
The police said the explosive which was found alongside the road in Koshin neighborhood was later successfully dissembled by Somali police anti-mine unit experts.
The movement of people and traffic was interrupted for hours as security agencies cleared the threat, the business activities later resumed.
The officials confirmed the bomb was aimed to inflict harm on the innocent civilians in the city.
It is not immediately clear who was behind the act but armed group al Shabaab has several times before claimed responsibility for explosive attacks that targeted members of the security agencies in Hirshabelle state.
