Authorities in Somaliland state of northern Somalia have started investigating into the murder of an Intelligence officer in Soil region.
The officer identified as Abdikani Guhad was killed on Monday evening by unknown assailants in Las-Anod town of Sool region.
Guhad and several other officials from Somaliland intelligence agency reached there last week to investigate the killing of Sool Regional Court chairman who died in a car bomb few weeks ago.
Speaking to the media, Sool governor Abdikani Mohamud Jidhe vowed that the perpetrators of the murder will be brought before the justice.
He said joined agencies have started investigation into incident.
The governor extended condolences to the family and relatives of the victim.
He urged the public to work the security agencies to arrest the assailants.
All of us, we ought to cooperate against the peace violators and deal with health hardly, the public should work with the police to complete this investigation,” he said.
The murder of the officer comes barely two weeks after Sool regional court judge Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Omar was killed in blast caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted in his car exploded.
