Former Somali Prime Minister, Nur Hassan Hussein alias Nur Ade has passed away in London on Wednesday.
Nur Ade was diagnosed with coronavirus last week and has been undergoing treatment in Britain.
According to a statement from the family, the former transitional government leader died in Kings college London hospital in the early hours.
“On behalf of Nur Ade family, I want to confirm to Somali people that the late Somali PM died peacefully on Wednesday at 7: AM Mogadishu local time.” Statement from the family said.
Spokesman of the family, Hajji Nur Ade further said that the body of the late premier will be laid to rest in London after undergoing all Islamic rituals including Janaza prayers.
He urged Somali citizens to pray for the diseased.
Nur Hassan Hussein, popularly known as Nur Adde, was the Prime Minister of Somalia from November 2007 to February 2009 served under President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed.
