Jubbaland leader, Ahmed Mohamed Islam has on Wednesday returned back to Kismayo.
The embattled regional leader whose election was turned down by federal government was in Nairobi where he signed reconciliation agreement with some opposition candidates to end the stalemate.
He was accompanied by federal parliament member, Abdirashid Hidig and politician Sheikh Dahir.
Speaking during a press briefing at Sayid Mohamed airport, Ahmed Islam appealed for peace and unity among the communities living in the state in order for his administration to advance its development agenda.
Madobe further stressed the need to end the difference with the federal government in Mogadishu via the negotiating table saying his side is ready and committed.
On COVID 19, he urged the population to strictly adhere to health departments’ instructions including social distancing and staying at home.
He also appealed for humanitarian assistance for flood-affected districts in Gedo region such as Bardere.
