Somalia will receive about 90,000 Iftar packages from Turkish born-Germany footballer in English club Arsenal’s star Mesut Ozil.
The Ramadan Iftar packages will be distributed in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
Beneficiaries from Turkey and Syria will also receive the packages.
Ozil has donated 713,000 Turkish liras ($101,000) to the Turkish Red Crescent for an aid campaign for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Turkish red crescent thanked the German play-maker for donation saying they will deliver the packages to the designated countries.
“We will deliver the packages provided with the donation of my brother Mesut to people in need as soon as possible,” said Kerem Kinik, head of the Turkish Red crescent.
