The African Union Mission in Somalia has welcomed the decision by the governments of Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia to investigate the recent cargo plane crash in Bardale.
In a statement AU mission in Somalia pledged continued support and facilitation required during the process.
“We would like to pledge our continued solidarity with the governments of Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia and will support and facilitate investigations aimed at clarifying the circumstances surrounding this incident”,
said the Head of Mission for AMISOM, Ambassador Francisco Madeira.
The mission also expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of those who perished in the plane crash on Monday 4th May.
The statement follows a phone call between President Farmajo and his counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta following the crash.
The two leaders agreed to closely cooperate on the investigation of the unfortunate accident.
