Authorities in the self declared state of Somaliland have lifted a ban of stimulant plant, Khat on Sunday.
The ban was imposed early on April in an effort to curb the spread of the virus from neighboring Ethiopia where the product is imported.
A letter from the office of deputy leader of Somaliland, Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail said the dealers are free to trade the product but directed them to follow health authorities’ guidelines in preventing the spread of the disease.
The guidelines including two meter distance, anti bacterial gel, gloves and face masks during the transaction.
Somaliland authorities have confirmed 19 more new cases of Coronavirus with two deaths on Saturday.
The total positive cases in the territory are now 87 with death toll of 8 people.
