The Somali army and Southwest state regional forces have jointly conducted security operations targeting armed group al Shabaab in the areas surrounding Dinsor district in Bay region on Wednesday.
Two militants were killed in the operation during the encounter in Harima village.
The district commissioner of Dinsor, Abdisalam Haji who confirmed the damages also verified the injury of Southwest state regional force commander, Taliyow Maolim Ibrahim in the battle.
He said the senior officer is currently undergoing treatment in an undisclosed health facility.
The new security operation in the region comes days after an IED attack killed more than five people during Eid festivities in Baidoa, the headquarter of Bay region.
