Somalia extends solidarity to Lebanon following massive blast in Beirut

The Federal Government of Somalia has expressed its solidarity to the people and government Lebanon following a massive blast in the capital Beirut on Tuesday.

The cause of the explosion which still unclear resulted in the death of over 100 people and some 4,000 wounded according to health officials.

The acting Prime Minister of Somalia Mahdi Mohamed Guled spoke on phone with his Lebanese counterpart Hassan Diab on Tuesday evening.

Mr. Guled offered support of the people and government of Somalia towards their Lebanese brethren during this tragic incident.

“Spoke on the phone with PM of Lebanon H.E Hassan Diab to offer all of my support and prayers to our brothers and sisters in Beirut after today’s tragic incident. Lebanon is in our thoughts as we pray for a speedy recovery to all those injured and may Allah have mercy on those who died.”

On the other hand, the office of the President sent condolences to the families that lost their loved ones in Beirut while wishing quick recovery to those injured in the blast near the port.

“Our condolences go out to the victims of the deadly bombing in Beirut this evening. The Federal Republic of Somalia stands with the government and the people Lebanon. We pray for a speedy recovery for those injured.” Villa Somalia tweeted.
