Turkish development agency has delivered x-ray machine to a hospital in Somalia’s central region which serves half a million people.
According to a statement by the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), the agency donated an X-ray machine to the Galgaduud Hospital which is the largest state hospital in the city of Dusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug state.
The donation programs by TIKA to support access to better healthcare systems in African countries dates back to decades.
Last month, Turkey donated 12 new armored personnel carriers to the Somali military to support its fight against al-Shabaab.
Since 2011, Turkey has been one of Somalia’s close allies as Turkish take part in the rebuilding of the country’s army which disintegrated in 1990s after the fall of the central government.
Turkey has built large military training in Mogadishu to support Somalia’s army.
