Authorities in Hirshabelle state has unveiled the list of the new regional parliament on Tuesday evening.
The technical committee held a press conference in Jowhar, the administrative capital of the state, and announced the list of 90 new members of parliament who were selected by traditional elders.
Only six female members are part of the new regional assembly where key members of the former parliament are missing.
Former Speaker of the Hirshabelle Parliament Sheikh Osman Barre Mohamed and his deputy Mohamed Hussein Gedi were not selected by traditional leaders to be part of the new assembly.
They have protested their exclusion from the new list.
According to officials, the new lawmakers will be sworn in at a meeting before they elect a speaker.
The election of the new President and his deputy is scheduled next month before the federal parliamentary election.
