Authorities in Somalia’s central regional state have vowed intensify operations against al-Shabaab.
According to sources, Galmudug state has recently been amassing troops in different parts of the state, to gear up the war on al-Shabaab fighters.
Ali Dahir Eid, the deputy president of Galmudug state told the media that the troops will start operations in al-Shabaab controlled areas.
“Everything is ready, the aim is just to kick this group out of the state. We prepared our forces to liberate the few village under the group’s control,” he said.
Despite efforts flush out the group, Al-Shabaab still controls areas in Galmudug state.
Group lost many town in Galmudug state after engaging in heavy clashes with Ahlu-Sunna Waljama some years back.
