Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has urged the media stakeholders to play their part in promoting peace in the Horn of Africa nation.
In a meeting with media leaders last night, Roble underlined the importance of the media saying the fourth estate enhanced efforts to educate the public in efforts to rebuild the nation.
He called on the journalists and the media houses to stand for the help of their country and steer it towards prosperity and peace.
The prime minister said the media is required to play a positive role in ensuring free and fair elections in the country.
“I thank you for the important role you have played in the development of the country, especially in raising public awareness, and now I want you to play your part in the upcoming elections in the country,” PM Roble said.
Roble stated that the media played a role in the development of the country, especially in difficult times, and need to strengthen their role.
