Troops of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have repelled al-Shabaab attack on their base in Hiiraan region.
According to sources, heavily armed al-Shabaab fighters on Sunday night stormed Forward Operating Base manned by Ethiopian forces under AMISOM in Halgan village.
The fighting between Ethiopian forces and al-Shabaab fighters lasted for hours, according to the locals.
The villagers who spoke to the media confirmed that the Ethiopian forces are still in control of the base.
AMISOM and Somali government have not commented on the casualties of the fighting.
