Al-Shabaab suspects nabbed in southwest security operation

At least four al-Shabaab suspects have been following operation in Awdinle, a town in the southern region of Bay,

In a statement, Ibrahim Mohamed Nur, administrator of Awdinle said acting on Military Intelligence, Southwest state forces backed by Somali National Army (SNA) have conducted the operation.

“Our operation was successful as the forces apprehended four Al-Shabaab militants, including two officers,” Nur said.

Nur said the suspects were kept in custody for further investigation into their cases.

The operation comes after the military more than 50 al-Shabaab members, including two senior commanders.

The military operation against the group took place in Mushaani, Daniga, and Majabta, according to Somali military radio.
