President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has issued a formal invitation to leaders of the country’s regional states and the Banadir administration to attend a consultative conference that will be hosted by the federal government.
In a statement, Somali ministry for information said national consultative forum on electoral process stand-off will kick off next Saturday.
“President of FGS Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo again invited FMS Presidents and Banaadir Region Governor to come an ice break meeting on Saturday 3rd of April Avizione Centre to talk implementation of Sept 17 and 16 Feb. Agreements,” the statement reads in part.
The meeting which was cancelled severally is expected iron out the long running difference over electoral process.
The leaders will also discuss the outcome of the technical committee who met in Baidoa February.
The 14-member team who attended a two-day meeting issued statement indicating that issues related to the Federal Indirect Elections Team (FIET), Somaliland representatives and Gedo seats were resolved.
The committee agreed to maintain 30% of women’s quotas in parliament.
