Turkey condemns Saturday’s attacks in Somalia

The government of Turkey has condemned al-Shabaab in Lower Shabelle and Benadir regions.

In a statement, Turkish fo0reign Ministry said “We strongly condemn these heinous terrorist attacks and offer our sincere condolences to the friendly and brotherly government and people of Somalia.”

“We are saddened to receive the news that many soldiers and civilians lost their lives in Somalia today (3rd April) in the terrorist attacks targeting the Somali National Army troops and innocent civilians,” the Ministry said in the statement.

The ministry wished quick the victims of the both attacks on military bases in Barire and Awdhegle towns as well restaurant in Mogadishu.

“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attacks and speedy recovery to the wounded,” it read.
The government of Turkey pledged to support Somali government in the fight against al-Shabaab fighters.

“Turkey will continue with determination to stand by the government and people of Somalia in their fight against terrorism,” the ministry said.
