Banadir Court has summoned six people for a court hearing in Mogadishu where they are facing espionage related charges and leaking national security information to foreigners.

The six are Kenyan researcher Rashid Abdi, Canadian researcher Matt Brydan, Robinson Colin, Kheyre Abdirahman Rage, Emmanuel Deiser and David Hopkin.

The Federal Government banned Sahan Research in 2018 and declared its founder Matt Bryden persona non grata.

Bryden previously worked for the UN Monitoring Group for Somalia and Eritrea.
